Nissan is gearing up to launch the Magnite SUV sooner than expected. While earlier, the SUV was expected to go on sale in January 2021, sources have confirmed that Nissan will launch the Magnite on 26 November 2020.
With the launch still a few days away, here is all you need to know about the upcoming SUV. The Magnite will be offered in four variants: XE, XL, XV and XV Premium. There will two engines on offer including a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making 72PS and 96Nm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The second engine on offer is a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 100PS and 152Nm mated to either 5-speed MT or a CVT.
In terms of features, the Magnite will offer various segment-first features like a 360-degree camera and digital instrument cluster. Other features on offer include LED headlamps, auto AC, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, traction control, hill launch assist, electronic stability program, tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control, push-button start, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Nissan will also offer Tech Pack with Magnite. It includes features like wireless mobile charging, JBL sound system, air purifier, LED scuff plates, ambient mood lighting and puddle lamps.
Although Nissan is yet to reveal prices of the Magnite, a leak suggests it will be priced from Rs 5.50 lakh to Rs 9.55 lakh. At this price, it will undercut its rivals by a substantial margin. The Magnite will take on likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and the Tata Nexon.
