We have recently learned from a fairly reliable source that the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift will get a new Alpha (O) top model. This new nomenclature will bring the total variant count to 5 --- Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha & Alpha (O). This new Alpha (O) variant will bring ADAS features such as radar-based rear blind spot warning, safe exit warning and rear cross traffic alert. It's also likely that the Baleno may gain the front parking sensors feature to make it a compelling small car with this useful safety feature. It's unlikely that the Baleno's ADAS feature list would outshine that of the Brezza's.

It's worth noting that with the launch of the current-generation Baleno became the most affordable car in 2022 with the 360-degree camera, which is now available in other small cars as well. The 360-degree camera made it easier to park or maneuver the car in tight spaces without scratching our own and other vehicles while navigating through narrow gaps. But, the camera is not capable of conveying the risk of contact audibly and requires the driver to pay attention to the display. Hence, the addition of front parking sensors could make the car quite easy to drive and park even for first-time car buyers with limited driving experience.
On the ADAS front, we should not expect the Baleno to get a full suite of ADAS features as even the Brezza only got a few features. It is difficult for us to imagine the Baleno offering more ADAS features than the Brezza 2026.
The ADAS features of the Brezza 2026 are limited to rear impact safety and use the rear radar hardware for this. The front radar-based features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and forward collision avoidance assist are not all that popular among buyers. Although there's an obvious utility in these features, they also create a real risk of getting rear-ended. Just one abrupt interference from automatic emergency braking could send the car to the service centre for a week or more and add to the repair bills.
This could be one reason why Maruti Suzuki are moving carefully with ADAS features. With the Brezza, we saw that they are only adding specific ADAS features, which don't add any risk of collision in normal daily driving but still add some value by minimising the chances of vehicle damage.
We have also learned that the Baleno 2026 will get a new CNG-AMT powertrain option. You can read more about it at the following link:
