In terms of design, the Slavia looks similar to its bigger sibling, the Octavia. However, unlike the Octavia, the Slavia’s practical 179mm ground clearance gives it a cross-country-sedan look. Unlike most other C-segment rival sedans, the Slavia’s length of more than 4.5m technically makes it a D-segment sedan. This length somewhat compensates for the unusually high ground clearance and gives the Slavia great road presence. The 5th gen Honda City is the only other car among Slavia’s rivals, which is more than 4.5m long.

The Skoda Slavia will compete with C-segment sedans like the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus. The Virtus will share its engine, transmission and frame with the Slavia. Volkswagen will reveal the Virtus on March 8.
