The Volkswagen Virtus will be the fourth product to make use of the MQB-A0-IN platform after the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Slavia. The Virtus will have a sleek grille up front, flanked by LED projector headlamps. The lower part of the bumper could host LED fog lamps and chrome garnishing.

Like the Skoda Slavia, the Virtus will also boast a long side profile with a strong character line covering the length of the sedan. The teaser also reveals the presence of a GT badge on either front fenders, chrome door handles, and chrome window line garnishing. At the rear, we will get to see Virtus badging in the center of the boot and sleek LED tail lights.

While the teaser revealed plenty of detail about the Virtus’ exterior, the interiors are still under wraps. Hence, we will have to wait for Volkswagen to reveal the interiors closer to the unveiling date. However, as it will share its equipment with the Slavia, we can expect features like front ventilated seats, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, and an electric sunroof.

In terms of powertrains, Volkswagen will offer two petrol engines with the Virtus. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine will produce 110PS of power and 175Nm of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine will produce 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Volkswagen Virtus will rival other C-segment sedans like the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. We expect Volkswagen to price the Virtus in the region of Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
