Skoda Slavia RS Could Be A Possibility In The Future | V3Cars

At the launch of the Slavia, Skoda anticipated the 1.5L variants of the sedan to make up around 15% of the overall sales. As per the latest sales report, the 1.5L powertrain accounts for over 30% of the total Slavia sales, which is double the share Skoda had anticipated. Owing to the great response from the market, Skoda India are now considering introducing the Slavia RS in the near future.

Skoda Slavia

In fact, Skoda India’s director of sales and marketing, Zac Hollis, stated that the brand would love to do a Slavia RS. The Slavia 1.5 already has all the right ingredients worthy of the RS badge. The Slavia 1.5 has proven to be faster than both the Octavia 1.8 TSI and Laura vRS around the MMRT track in Chennai. During the launch of the sedan, nearly everyone present, including us, suggested that Skoda should have offered a visual differentiation between the Slavia 1.0 and 1.5 variants.

For the Slavia RS, we can expect Skoda India to add a sporty body kit, retuned and lowered suspension, revised steering geometry, sportier seats, and a fruity exhaust system. However, it is very early to speculate and we believe Skoda India will brand the sportier Slavia as Monte Carlo and not the RS.

Skoda recently launched the Kushaq Monte Carlo but it only features a few cosmetic changes. In the case of the Slavia, we expect it to undergo a major mechanical overhaul to serve the sporty intent of the midsize family sedan. Currently, the Slavia range is priced from Rs. 10.69 lakh to Rs. 17.79 lakh ex-showroom.
