The move comes years after initial plans to offer a turbocharged engine with the Triber, which never materialised at the time of its original launch or even its recent facelift.

Triber To Get 1L Turbo Petrol Engine

The upcoming update is expected to bring Renault’s 1L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine to the Triber lineup. This engine is already available in models like the Kiger and Magnite, where it produces 100PS of power and 160Nm of torque.

For the Triber, this engine will offer a noticeable step up over the existing normal petrol engine, especially in terms of torque and drivability under load.

Renault are likely to offer this engine with both manual and automatic transmission options, including a CVT.

Turbo Engine Could Also Power CNG Variant

In addition to the turbo petrol option, Renault are also expected to introduce a factory-fitted CNG variant of the Triber.

Unlike the current dealer-level CNG kits, the upcoming version will feature a factory-installed kit with dual cylinders positioned under the boot floor. This should help retain usable luggage space while offering lower running costs.

Interestingly, the CNG version is also expected to use the turbo petrol engine, addressing a common concern among buyers regarding lack of power in CNG vehicles.

Platform Updates Enable New Powertrain Options

Renault say these revisions will resolve earlier constraints related to engine bay space and structural requirements, which may have prevented the turbo engine from being offered earlier.

Triber Turbo Petrol Launch Timeline

The Triber turbo petrol is expected to debut around the festive season, possibly between September and October 2026. The addition of a turbo petrol engine could address one of the biggest shortcomings of the Triber – its modest performance. With higher torque and the option of a new CVT automatic transmission, the MPV could become more appealing for both city and highway use.

If Renault also introduces a well-integrated CNG option with the turbo engine, it could further strengthen the Triber’s value proposition by combining performance with low running costs.

With over 190 women employed on its shopfloor in a year, Maruti Suzuki's total women workforce across all functions now exceeds 1,300.

1. VF MPV 7 Offers A Range Of 517km

Equipped with a 60.13kWh battery pack, the new VF MPV 7 offers an ARAI-certified range of 517km per charge. The front axle-mounted electric motor in the VF MPV 7 produces 204PS of power and 280Nm of torque. VinFast claim the battery pack can be charged from 10-70% in just 30 minutes using an 80kW DC fast charger. The VF MPV 7 is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in under 9 seconds.

The VF MPV 7 can be considered as a rival to the Mahindra XEV 9S Pack Two Above 70 variant, which comes equipped with a larger 70kWh battery pack. Priced at Rs. 24.45 lakh (ex-showroom), this variant of the XEV 9S produces 245PS of power and 380Nm of torque. The 7-seater Mahindra EV offers an ARAI-claimed range of 600km.

In terms of pricing, the 2026 Kia Carens Clavis EV’s 51.4kWh variants too fall in the same ballpark as the VF MPV 7. However, it offers a smaller 51.4kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 490km. The Kia MPV produces 171PS of power and 255Nm of torque.

3. Impressive Road Presence

The 2026 VF MPV 7 measures 4740mm in length, 1872mm in width, 1734mm in height and boasts a long wheelbase of 2840mm. In comparison, the XEV 9S is 6mm shorter, 28mm wider and 13mm taller. The XEV 9S has a 78mm shorter wheelbase. Thus both, electric 7-seater vehicles offer similar road presence. The Kia Carens Clavis EV is smaller in every dimension.

However, the Toyota Innova Hycross hybrid, which is priced above the VF MPV 7 is even bigger with a length of 4755mm, width of 1850mm, height of 1795mm and a wheelbase measuring 2850mm. 

In terms of boot space, VinFast claim the VF MPV 7 offers 126 litres of boot space with all 3 rows up and expandable up to 1240 litres with the 2nd and 3rd row folded down.

VinFast are offering the 2026 VF MPV 7 in 6 colours:

5. Free Charging And Other Benefits

VinFast are offering the VF MPV 7 with several benefits, including free charging at their V-Green EV charging stations until March 31, 2029. VinFast are also offering an exchange bonus of Rs. 2 lakh for customers trading in their internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle for the VF MPV 7. 

Additionally, the company is assuring a 75% buyback value, calculated based on the vehicle’s original ex-showroom price. The package also includes 3 years of labour-free maintenance, a 7-year vehicle warranty, 7-year paint warranty, 7-year roadside assistance (RSA), 5-year suspension warranty and a 10-year warranty for the battery.

VinFast VF 7 Booking Details

Bookings for the 2026 VF MPV 7 are currently open for a token amount of Rs. 21,000. VinFast are yet to reveal the full variant-wise prices of the VF MPV 7 and the delivery timelines for the electric MPV. We will update this article as soon as we get more information.

Industrial Model

Redefined market approach

Nissan is evolving its global business strategy with redefined roles for its three lead markets: Japan, the US and China. Together, these markets anchor Nissan’s ability to scale innovation, tailor volume to demand and set standards for how to compete globally on speed, cost and consumer relevance.

Japan is Nissan’s home market and serves as the proving ground for advanced technologies. This includes the introduction of next-generation ProPILOT and mobility services, while strengthening Nissan’s core model offerings. From FY2028 onward, Nissan will introduce a compact car series to further enhance the lineup, growing sales to 550,000 total annual volume by fiscal year 2030. In parallel, deeper engagement with younger customers will support renewed brand strength and long-term relevance.

The U.S. will provide stable returns and a foundation for sustained growth, with an ambition to return to one million annual sales by fiscal 2030. The market strategy is centered on leadership in large vehicles and a strong manufacturing footprint supported by a high level of localization. Product competitiveness will be reinforced through the next-generation Rogue Hybrid e-POWER; a new family of all-new body-on-frame vehicles led by the return of Xterra that will feature both V6 and new V6-hybrid powertrain options; and continued use of V6 engines in D-segment SUVs where customer demand requires. EV investments will remain disciplined and responsive to consumer trends and policy evolution. INFINITI will be revitalized with new models offering, supporting both brand and margin growth.

China will serve as a source of development speed, cost efficiency and global exports. By strengthening its NEV lineup, Nissan will expand domestic sales while establishing exports as a strategic pillar. Our target is one million units sales by fiscal year 2030. Under this approach, the N7 will be exported to LATAM and ASEAN, while Frontier Pro will be supplied to LATAM, ASEAN and the Middle East, providing growth opportunities through additional electrified vehicle options. This dual role allows China to contribute simultaneously to local growth and global portfolio strength.

In addition, Nissan’s long-standing presence and brand strength in Mexico and the Middle East continue to deliver high value within the company’s global portfolio. Mexico is a core industrial and profitability anchor, driving scale expansion and earnings across the Americas and beyond through a strong industrial base and Nissan’s highest global market share. The Middle East remains a priority growth and profit market, fueled by exports from lead markets and a mix skewed toward large SUVs and premium segments where Nissan’s strength closely matches customer demand.

Beyond the lead markets, other markets including Europe, India and Africa will play a role in expanding Nissan’s reach and supporting overall growth. Together, they will form a cohesive market strategy aligned with Nissan’s product portfolio approach.

Renault India, a wholly owned subsidiary of the French carmaker Renault Group, has commenced nationwide customer deliveries of the new Renault Duster across India. The first delivery also coincides with brand’s inauguration of new’R store on Mount Road in Chennai.

Making the occasion special the delivery was graced by Mr. François Provost – Chief Executive Officer, Renault Group and Mr. Stephane Deblaise – Chief Executive Officer, Renault Group in India, handed over the keys of the first Duster to Dr. Arthanari Manickavasagam, a renowned doctor based in Chennai.

The new’R store in Chennai is a 1S facility spread across 4,500 sq. ft., including a 3,000 sq. ft. display and customer interaction area. The urban experiential outlet is designed to showcase up to 5 vehicles, including a dedicated delivery bay, offering customers an immersive and seamless brand experience. Chennai, which is also home to the first ever new’R store created yet another milestone by delivering the first new Renault Duster.

Renault India continues to strengthen and transform its retail footprint. Today’s inaugurated new’R store is the 2nd outlet in Chennai, taking the total number of such stores in India to 11. The company has outlined aggressive expansion plans for this format of urban car retail outlet, targeting to have a total of 70 outlets across India this year. These experiential urban retail stores are in addition to the existing robust network of 350+ sales touch points across the country.

A pioneer of the mid-size SUV segment in India, the Duster continues to generate strong customer interest. Renault India is reinforcing its value proposition through customer-centric initiatives such as the Renault Forever program, offering coverage of up to 7 years or 150,000 km. The commencement of deliveries comes at a time when Renault India has recorded a 77% growth in sales in March 2026, driven by strong momentum from models such as the new Kiger and Triber, alongside the introduction of the new Duster.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced the winners from its cohort at the IndiaSkills National Competition 2026. This victory marks a significant milestone in its continued commitment to skill excellence and youth empowerment. TKM participants secured a total of 5 Gold, 3 Silver, and 1 Bronze medals across seven skill categories at the national level.

India’s premier platform for vocational excellence, IndiaSkills 2025-26 witnessed participation from top talent across the Country, progressing through District, Zonal, State and Regional levels before culminating in the National Level. TKM’s consistent performance across these stages reflects its structured approach to skill development and its focus on building a future-ready workforce aligned with global standards.

At the national level, 14 team members from TKM participated across seven skills, with competitions held in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

The winners Deepu M S and Jayanth K secured Gold in Mechatronics, while Ganesh P B and Punith Kumar bagged Silver in the same category.

In Robotic System Integration, Shashank S and Abhishek S S won Gold, followed by Chirag G and Vinay M H with Silver. In Additive Manufacturing, Pavan B S won Gold and Harshith K B secured Silver.

Tejas B S won Gold in Auto Body Repair, while Punith P secured Gold in Mechanical Engineering CAD. In Welding, Praveen Y H achieved a Bronze medal.

With an objective of transforming rural youth into world-class technicians, TKM continues to invest in advanced training infrastructure, industry-relevant curricula and global best practices. TKM’s active participation in IndiaSkills and WorldSkills platforms underscores its long-term vision of nurturing talent that can compete at an international level.
