New Tata Avinya EV Concept Showcased At Auto Expo 2023 | V3Cars

The Tata Avinya was first revealed in April 2022. The homegrown carmaker plans to launch the electric MPV concept in India by 2025. It is based on Tata’s 3rd generation EV platform.

The Tata Avinya is similar in size to the Tata Harrier. However, it sits lower to the ground than the Harrier SUV. The carmaker added that the Avinya’s design offers the looks of a crossover and the space of an MPV within the footprint of a hatchback. The new dedicated EV platform has opened up new design possibilities for the carmaker and that is visible in the Avinya’s design.

When it enters production, we expect the Tata Avinya to come with several ADAS-based features such as:

Blindspot detection
Forward collision warning
Blindspot alert
Lane keep assist
Auto emergency braking
Lane departure warning
Adaptive cruise control
Rear cross-traffic alert
Auto high beam

While powertrain details of the Avinya are not available yet, we can expect the electric MPV to offer a range of over 500km on a single charge.

While the concept features butterfly doors, we expect the production-spec version to come with conventional doors. We expect it to offer a panoramic sunroof as well. The Avinya will also feature Tata’s new brand identity and logo when it goes on sale, Speaking of the Avinya electric MPV, Tata Motors say the name has been derived from the Sanskrit word that means innovation.
