The Toyota Taisor is likely to be the rebadged version of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki YTB. Toyota have discontinued the Urban Cruiser and we do not expect them to launch a new-gen version of the SUV based on the updates Maruti Suzuki Brezza. If that were to happen, Toyota wouldn’t have trademarked the new ‘Taisor’ name. Instead, the Taisor is likely to share its powertrain, platform and equipment with the upcoming Baleno-based YTB crossover SUV.

We expect the Toyota Taisor to come with the same 1.2L normal petrol engine seen in the Glanza. This engine produces 90PS of power at 6000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4400rpm. It is likely to come with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual transmission options.

Toyota Taisor Rivals
The Toyota Taisor is likely to go up against other compact crossovers in the market like the Citroen C3, Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. It will sit below the Maruti Suzuki Brezza that competes with the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300.
Toyota Taisor Launch Timeline
Toyota recently trademarked the name and we are yet to see any spy shots of the test cars. Hence, it’s hard to judge the launch timeline for the Taisor. Still, following a rough estimate, we expect Toyota to bring the Taisor to the market in the latter half of 2023.

The Toyota Taisor is likely to sit above the Glanza hatchback and hence, command a premium price tag. We expect Toyota to price the Taisor crossover in the range of Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 11 lakh ex-showroom.
