As reported earlier, the new i20 will share its engine options with the Venue. It will get a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (83PS/113Nm) mated to a 5-speed MT, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (120PS/172Nm) mated to either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (100PS/240Nm) coupled with a 6-speed MT.
The 2020 i20 will be offered in four variants: Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). It will be available in 8 exterior colour options, including 6 monotone and 2 dual-tone paint schemes. The colour options are as follows:
Single Tone:
- Polar White
- Typhoon Silver
- Titan Grey
- Fiery Red
- Starry Night
- Metallic Copper
Dual-tone:
- Polar White with Black Roof
- Fiery Red with Black Roof.
Hyundai has not yet revealed the feature list of the new i20. However, the features on offer should include auto LED headlamps, electric sunroof, auto AC with rear AC vents, digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, air purifier, wireless charging, auto-dimming IRVM and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety features on offer should include up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control and traction control.
Prices of the new i20 are expected to range from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. It will take on the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo, Tata Altroz and the Honda Jazz.
