Update: 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift ADAS Features Reserved For X-Line, GTX+

Kia India revealed the Sonet facelift on December 14, 2023. At the event, Kia highlighted the list of comfort and convenience features as well as the safety features available in the 2024 Sonet SUV. The 2024 Kia Sonet gets 15 safety features, including 6 airbags and 5x 3-point seatbelts, as standard across all variants.

ADAS Only Available With 2024 Kia Sonet X-Line Variant

The Kia Sonet facelift gets ADAS features, including:

• Forward Collision Warning
• Forward Collision Avoidance (Car/Pedestrian/Cyclist)
• Lane Following Assist
• Lane Departure Warning
• High Beam Assist
• Driver Attention Warning
• Leading Vehicle Departure Alert

Like the 2023 Hyundai Venue, the Kia Sonet facelift makes use of a camera-based advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).

Camera-based ADAS systems like those in the Sonet facelift and 2023 Venue have their fair share of pros and cons. Camera-based ADAS is more cost effective as it does not require expensive sensor technologies like LiDAR or radar. However, a camera-based ADAS can be affected by poor weather conditions like rain, fog and glare. Additionally, cameras can be obstructed by dirt, debris and snow, which could affect their functionality.

Like ADAS, even the 360 degree camera with blind view monitor is limited to the Sonet X-Line variant.
