MG Select – What Is It?
The MG Select Experience Centres are designed to provide a unique and immersive environment, drawing inspiration from art galleries. The first MG Select dealership – Tejpal Motors – is located near R City mall in Thane. MG plan to open 12 more MG Select outlets in major cities across India, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Gurugram, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Kolkata and Kochi.
Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, commented:
“Luxury consumption in India has grown exponentially in recent years, and with MG SELECT, we aim to further create a niche for luxury car buyers by redefining and elevating the car ownership journey. Our vision of redefining the Indian luxury automotive landscape aligns with our dealer partners, and together we will create newer benchmarks by offering technologically advanced products and exclusive experiences.”
These MG Select dealerships will offer the upcoming M9 luxury MPV and Cyberster electric sportscar initially.
MG M9
After its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the India-spec MG M9 is set for its launch later this month. This electric MPV features a boxy silhouette with a clean and modern design. Key exterior highlights include projector LED headlights with eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs, electric sliding doors, and connected LED tail lights, all contributing to its premium feel. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts for enhanced efficiency.
Inside, the M9 offers a luxurious black and tan dashboard with dual digital displays and a 2-spoke steering wheel. Feature highlights include a single-pane sunroof for front passengers and a panoramic sunroof for rear occupants. The 6-seater configuration boasts ventilation, massage functions, and power assistance for the 1st and 2nd rows. Further enhancing the cabin experience are a 3-zone automatic climate control and 64-color ambient lighting.
For safety, the M9 includes multiple airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and a Level-2 ADAS suite. Powering the M9 is a 90kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 548km. It is paired with a front-axle-mounted electric motor producing 245PS of power and 350Nm of torque. The MG M9 is expected to be priced around Rs. 70 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be an electric alternative to premium MPVs like the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival.
MG Cyberster
The MG Cyberster, an electric roadster, is also expected to go on sale soon, promising exhilarating performance with a 0-100kmph time of just 3.2 seconds. Its striking design includes projector LED headlamps with petal-like LED DRLs and eye-catching scissor doors on either side, making it potentially the most affordable car in India with such doors. Arrow-shaped LED tail lights and an LED lightbar further enhance its sporty appeal.
The interior features an aircraft-like cockpit design with a unique 4-screen layout for accessing all EV functionalities, including a 10.25-inch and 7-inch driver’s displays, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a dedicated display for AC controls. It also comes with Bose speakers and automatic climate control. Safety features include 6 airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, disc brakes on all wheels, and Level-2 ADAS features like lane keep assist and driver drowsiness detection. The India-spec Cyberster will pack a 77kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 443km. It features a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 510PS of power and 725Nm of torque. The Cyberster is expected to be priced around Rs. 80 lakh (ex-showroom) and can be considered an electric option to the BMW Z4 in India.
