80-Day Waiting Period For New Hyundai Santro
The all- new Hyundai Santro was launched on October 23rd, 2018. Like the previous editions, the updated Santro has also received an overwhelming response from the customers in the country by clocking more than 38,500 booking within a month of its launch in the country along with 211,000 enquiries. According to the latest reports, the hatchback has a waiting period of more than two months for the petrol-manual and the petrol- AMT variants, while CNG- equipped models have a longer three- month waiting period.
Hyundai had commenced the bookings for the hatchback from 10th October and has revealed that 30 per cent of the bookings made were for AMT- equipped models, while 18 per cent were for the Santro CNG. The remaining 52 per cent of the bookings were for the standard petrol- manual variants.
Hyundai had launched the 2018 Santro at an introductory price range of Rs 3.90 lakh to Rs 5.65 lakh (ex- showroom, Delhi). The hatchback marks the Korean carmaker's return in the compact hatchback segment. The 2018 Hyundai Santro is available in five variants: D-Lite, Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta and can also be had with an all-new AMT or a factory- fitted CNG kit.
Termed as ‘Hyundai’s R&D Innovation in Modern Mobility’, the new Santro is claimed to be a perfect combination of Six Pillars - Modern Stylish Tall Boy Design, Comfortable & Premium Cabin, New Age Technology, Customer Centric Safety, All Round Performance and Complete Peace of Mind by the manufacturer. Measuring 3,610 mm in length, 1,645 mm in width, 1,560 mm in height and 2,400 mm in wheelbase, the 2018 Santro comes based on the new design language ‘Dynamic Tension’.
The features list includes driver airbag, along with ABS and EBD are standard across the range. Only the top- spec Asta variant gets an additional passenger airbag. There are a few segment- first features on the Santro too such as the 7- inch touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, rear parking camera & sensors and rear AC vents.
Mechanically, the new- gen Santro comes loaded with 4- Cylinder 1.1 Litre Petrol engine offering 68 bhp of power and 99 Nm of peak torque mated with option of MT and in- house developed Smart Auto AMT transmissions. It is the first Hyundai model to offer in-house developed Smart Auto AMT technology in the Hyundai product line- up. The manufacturer has also offer factory fitted CNG that is 60 L water equivalent. The engine with CNG produces 58 bhp of maximum power and 84 Nm of torque. The ARAI certified fuel efficiency returned by the hatchback with MT and AMT is 20.3 Kmpl, while it returns 30.48 km/ kg with CNG.
Available in an array of 7 exterior colors including 2 new colors - Imperial Beige and Diana Green, while the interior offers two color tones to choose from- Premium Beige with Champagne Gold inserts and Sporty All Black Interiors with Diana Green color inserts based on exterior colors, the manufacturer also offers a number of benefits for the customers with the hatchback such as 3 Years / 100,000 kms Warranty & 3 Years Road Side Assistance (Best- in- Segment), Lowest Cost of Maintenance (Best- in- Segment), know your SANTRO Program, Assured Same Day Service Delivery and Service at your Doorstep.;
One thing to notice is that the introductory prices will last only until the first 50,000 bookings after which Hyundai will revise prices for the Santro.
