There is still time for the official unveiling of the next generation Jeep Wrangler. However, the new model is getting spied time and again. Recently, the user manual of the all new Wrangler has been leaked out and revealed the SUV and its specifications ahead of its world debut.

As was expected, Jeep has retained the basic design language of the Wrangler, as it is famous for its traditional hard-core SUV visual appeal. However, the American SUV manufacturing brand has done some subtle changes on the exterior design of the SUV. The styling updates include minor changes to the design of the front radiator grille, headlights as well as indicator clusters.

Under the hood, the next generation Jeep Wrangler will be equipped with a choice of a 2.0 litre, 4 cylinder and a 3.6 litre V6 engine. The 2.8 litre engine from the current generation Wrangler has been discontinued from the engine lineup of the next-gen Wrangler, at least in the US-spec model. While the 2 liter engine offers a towing capacity of 907 kg, the 3.6 liter unit has the ability to pull up to 1,587 kg. The engine also comes with a system which is designed to thwart trailer snaking.

On the inside also, the all new Jeep Wrangler is similar to that of the current generation model. However, the new model will be offering a choice between a 7.0 inch and an 8.4 inch large display for the infotainment system. The larger display unit among these two comes equipped with a sat-nav system. Both the infotainment systems offer the convenience of integrated climate controls.

The display screens also offers information on an array of off-road focused functions which includes axle status, the car’s altitude, longitude and latitude, steering angle and more. The system also offers a separate display unit for pitch and roll angles.

In order to offer enhanced safety and control over the vehicle, apart from the adjustable electronic stability control, Jeep will also offer automatic emergency braking system and Rain Brake Support system on the new generation Wrangler. The Rain Brake Support system aids the braking system when it detects wet weather and enhances the braking power during slippery driving situations. The American SUV maker will also be offering steering weighting on the new model, which can adapt to various driving situations. However, the Wrangler’s more hardcore off-roading Rubicon variants are also expected to be endowed with the advanced off-roading technology pack.

Just like the ongoing model of the Jeep Wrangler, the all new 2018 model of the Wrangler will also come with both two and four door versions. The next generation model will also offer the flexibility of folding down the windscreen.

In the Indian market, Jeep offers the four-door Wrangler Unlimited model for sale, which is available in both petrol and diesel versions. Jeep India’s current portfolio also includes the Grand Cherokee and the recently launched Compass. Jeep is also planning to launch the Renegade in India and has been testing it for quite some time in the country.
