Citroen will enter the Indian car market in the first quarter of 2021 with the C5 Aircross SUV. The carmaker has produced a few units of the car in India and these would be tested before the car goes on sale. The C5 Aircross is already on sale in other countries, and it will be assembled in India. The carmaker will have another made-for-India and made-in-India SUV in its line-up later.
As far as C5 Aircross is concerned, it remains to be seen whether Citroen will offer the option of both petrol and diesel engine or will there be just one. The carmaker has a 1.6-litre (180PS) turbo-petrol engine in its portfolio for the C5 Aircross and there’s a 2.0-litre (176PS) diesel engine as well.
We expect the carmaker to offer a more kitted version of this car in India to start things off, so expect features like panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, side and curtain airbags and dual-zone automatic AC to be on offer. Expect the SUV to be priced closer to the Rs 25 lakh mark, so it would rival the likes of the Skoda Karoq, VW T-Roc and Honda CR-V in India.
