Hyundai is preparing to launch the Elantra facelift, and the facelift version of the sedan has been spied recently revealing the production version of the car with the cosmic details. The Elantra will be available for customers in the Korean market starting August 2018 and is expected to be launched in the Indian market by mid-2019.
Talking about the changes, the upcoming Hyundai Elantra facelift will feature a number of changes on the exterior like the new cascading effect front grille, sharper headlamps in a triangular pattern that extend into the front grille and an overall sleeker look, while the L-shaped LED DRL’s and the triangular fog lamps in the bumper have been added to improvise the new-look of the Elantra. At the rear, the sedan will be offered with a pair of sleek LED tail lamps adorn each side of the redesigned boot lid and the Hyundai logo now comes in the center and the trim name comes under it. The rear bumper has also been redesigned with the number plate now housed in it.
Though, the interiors of the upcoming Elantra sedan have not been revealed in the spy shots but we can but the cabin is also expected to get a more premium treatment. One can also expect the inclusion of more features like wireless charging, better infotainment system among many. The engine options on the new 2019 model will most likely be the same as the present generation model.
Mechanically, the Elantra facelift will come powered by the same 1.6 liter turbocharged diesel engine that produces 126 BHP and 260 NM of torque apart from the 2.0-liter petrol engine that produces 150 BHP and 192 NM of torque. Also, the mild hybrid technology that was recently introduced on the Tucson can be offered on the new Elantra as well. The sedan will take against the likes of the Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla when launched.
