Japanese automaker Suzuki is all set to unveil the 2018 Suzuki Sport Ertiga concept at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2018 and the concept has already been leaked ahead of its world debut. The Sport Ertiga concept is basically the standard Ertiga with a body kit. Suzuki had unveiled the 2018 Ertiga MPV at the 2018 Indonesian auto show.
The Sport concept is based on the standard 2018 Ertiga MPV that is currently on sale in the Indonesian market. However, in India the latest model is likely to debut during the festive season. Till now, the manufacturer has not revealed any detail about the upcoming MPV but according to the reports in the market, the 2018 Ertiga MPV will be more performance oriented.
Talking about the Suzuki Ertiga Sport concept, the car doesn’t seem to get into production anytime soon and the leaked images show sportier body kit and reduced ground clearance for sportier stance compared to the 180 mm ground clearance sported by the standard model. In terms of styling and features, the 2018 Suzuki Ertiga Sport concept gets a blacked-out grille, smoked headlamps and a stylish aero kit comprising underbody spoilers and a roof spoiler. While the roof spoiler is expected to be shared from the regular model, it rides on newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels.
Mechanically, the ready to unveil Ertiga Sport concept will borrow the same powertrain option from the standard model. The engine will be the same four cylinder 1.5-litre K15B VVT petrol engine capable of churning out 104 bhp of power and a peak torque of 138 Nm. The gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Other than the Ertiga Sport concept, Suzuki will unveil the Suzuki Sport Swift concept and the Suzuki Sport Ignis concept at the GIIAS 2018 along with much anticipated 2018 Suzuki Jimny. About the 2018 Ertiga in India, though it is not likely to offer much updates but the MPV is expected to cost a little high starting from Rs 6.5 Lakhs to Rs 10.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom, India).
