Mahindra Tease XUV300 Facelift With New XUV 3XO Name Ahead Of April 29 Launch | V3Cars

Mahindra teased their upcoming SUV, the XUV 3XO, on their social media channels recently. The XUV 3XO is the new name for Mahindra’s B2-segment SUV and it features a host of design changes over the current XUV300. The XUV300 facelift will make its global debut on April 29 and rival the likes of best-selling SUVs like the 2024 Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, and others.

Mahindra XUV 3XO Teased – Design Updates

While the teaser video does not reveal the upcoming XUV 3XO fully, we could catch glimpses of its updated front and rear end. At the front, the Mahindra XUV 3XO will feature a thorough redesign with an updated headlamp cluster, LED DRLs and a new grille. The teaser video suggests Mahindra have equipped the XUV 3XO with 2 projector headlamps on either side for the low beam and fog lamps. The headlamp clusters look bigger than before and feature long, vertical LED DRLs similar to the ones seen on Mahindra’s BE.05 concept SUV.

The rear end of the XUV 3XO gets a sharply chiselled tailgate with Mahindra’s twin peaks logo taking pride of place at the centre followed by large ‘XUV 3XO’ lettering beneath it. The XUV300 facelift also gets connected LED tail lamps with C-shaped lighting elements at either side this time around. The side profile of the updated SUV is likely to remain largely the same save for a new set of alloy wheels.

Mahindra XUV 3XO Interior Updates

While the interior of the XUV3X0 isn’t clearly visible in the latest teaser, we expect it to offer premium features like leatherette upholstery in the higher variants. Based on spy shots of the XUV300 facelift from earlier this year, we know the XUV 3XO will feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system borrowed from the XUV 400 electric SUV. So expect features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and Mahindra’s AdrenoX connected car technology features as well.

Mahindra are yet to reveal if the upcoming XUV 3XO features ADAS. In the B2-segment, only the Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet offer ADAS currently, while Tata are likely to offer the Nexon with ADAS later this year.

Powertrain Options For 2024 XUV 3XO

We expect the Mahindra XUV300 facelift to feature the same powertrain options as the current model. The XUV300 is currently powered by 3 engine options – a 1.2L turbo petrol with multipoint fuel injection, a 1.2L turbo petrol with direct injection and a 1.5L turbo diesel engine.

The 1.2L turbo petrol with multipoint fuel injection puts out 110PS of power and 200Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.2L turbo petrol with direct injection produces 130PS of power and 230Nm of torque and comes with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The 1.5-litre turbo diesel generates 117PS of power and 300Nm of torque. It is offered with the 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT.

Launch And Rivals

The Mahindra XUV 3XO will make its global debut on April 29. It is unclear if Mahindra plan to launch the SUV and reveal its price list on the same day. For now, Mahindra have halted bookings for the current XUV300 and Mahindra’s CEO has confirmed bookings will resume with the launch of the facelift.

When launched, the Mahindra XUV 3XO will rival the likes of the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and other sub-compact SUVs. We expect prices to range between Rs. 8.0 lakh and Rs. 15.0 lakh (ex-showroom).
