Refreshed new Hyundai Elantra’s variants and colour options revealed officially

Hyundai Motor India is bracing up to launch the facelift version of its Elantra executive sedan in the domestic car market. Just few days prior to the Hyundai Elantra facelift’s launch in India, the South Korean auto major has gone ahead revealing the refreshed model’s variant lineup as well as the exterior colour options that it will be available in the market.

The refreshed new Elantra sedan will be coming with a good number of exterior design updates, which will include sharper styling elements, a new front fascia and redesigned rear design. To offer a refreshed visual appeal, the premium sedan’s facelift avatar will be coming with a fully redesigned front face which involves a larger single piece front grille, newly designed triangle shaped headlights and new bumper. At the rear, the premium sedan has been endowed with a revised, more sculpted tailgate, while the number plate has been repositioned on the lower bumper. There are also eye-catching, sharply styled tail lights that add to the overall elegant and sharp visual appeal of the refreshed Elantra. On the whole, the executive saloon gets an extensive styling updates.

When it comes to features, Hyundai will be offering the BlueLink connected car technology in the new Elantra that debuted in the Venue subcompact SUV.

Now, as Hyundai India has revealed, the refreshed new Elantra will be offered in three model trims, namely - S, SX and SX (O). Interestingly, while the base S variant does not get the 6 speed automatic transmission option, the top of the line SX (O) variant gives a miss to the 6 speed manual transmission gearbox. Thus it is only the SX variant that will be available with both the manual and automatic transmission options.

The Hyundai Elantra facelift will be offered in total five exterior colour options to choose from, namely - Phantom Black, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Marina Blue and Fiery Red.

Moreover, the Hyundai Elantra facelift is also expected to be getting powered by an upgraded BS6 compliant 2.0 litre petrol mill that can generate a max power output of 152 PS along with 192 Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine would be offered with a 6 speed manual or a torque converter transmission option. Although Hyundai has not revealed any details about the sedan’s diesel version yet, the BS6 compliant 1.5 litre diesel powertrain from the Kia Seltos might be doing the duty under the refreshed Elantra sometime later.

The new refreshed Hyundai Elantra will be launching in the car market of India on 3rd of October, 2019 in the midst of the festive season. Hyundai has already opened the pre-bookings for the Elantra facelift. Currently, the Elantra’s pricing ranges from Rs. 13.82 lakhs to Rs. 18.92 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), and the Elantra facelift is expected to come at a slight more premium over the outgoing model. Post its launch, the refreshed new Elantra will be continuing its fight against the other established sedan models in the Indian executive D-segment, such as the Toyota Corolla Altis, Honda Civic and Skoda Octavia.
