Maruti Suzuki India Limited have begun new community development efforts in eight villages around their Kharkhoda facility in Haryana. These projects aim to improve education, healthcare, sanitation and infrastructure for nearly 19,000 residents.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has enhanced its CSR footprint in eight villages near its Kharkhoda facility. As part of its CSR commitment, the Company is implementing targeted community development projects across key development areas - education, community infrastructure, healthcare and sanitation, in consultation with the local community leaders.

Under its education initiatives, Maruti Suzuki in partnership with the Department of Education, Sonipat has established two libraries at the Government Senior Secondary Schools in the villages of Rohna and Thana Kalan. These libraries are equipped with computers, a collection of 2,100+ textbooks, reading materials and dedicated study spaces. The library facilities will benefit 600 students in the region, promoting digital literacy and foster a culture of reading.

In a ceremonial event held today, Dr. Manoj Kumar (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Sonipat and Mr. Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, inaugurated the library at Government Girls Senior Secondary School at Rohna village. 

Speaking on the Company’s CSR efforts at Kharkhoda, Mr. Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Affairs, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said,

 

As an industry leader, Maruti Suzuki has consistently prioritized community development in the areas surrounding its facilities in Gurgaon, Manesar, Rohtak and Mehsana. Kharkhoda marks our new greenfield facility. Community welfare remains integral to our journey Information Classification :Public in Kharkhoda and evolves alongside our new facility. Through our focused CSR initiatives in education, community infrastructure, healthcare and sanitation, we aim to empower local communities, vendor employees and overall improve standard of living in the area. We deeply appreciate the continued support of the local government authorities, who continue to be key enablers for this shared progress.

Under the Company’s ongoing CSR efforts, Maruti Suzuki has successfully implemented multiple projects in the Kharkhoda region.

• Construction of new classrooms at Primary School & High School at Kundal village and Government Girls Primary School at Rampur village.
• Installation of green energy solar units at Kundal Government High School & Government Senior Secondary School at Saidpur. These schools cater to students from several adjoining villages like Kundal, Rampur, Nizampur-Khurd and Pipli. These efforts have benefited over 500 students.
• Construction of paver block roads in multiple villages near Maruti Suzuki’s Kharkhoda plant. These new roads have improved the reach of villages, especially during monsoons and enhanced connectivity to nearby highways.
