Mercedes Benz have just announced the prices of their new-generation E-Class. It starts from Rs. 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom), which will get you the E200 with a 2.0L turbo petrol engine. The E220d with a 2.0L turbo diesel engine costs Rs. 81.50 lakh (ex-sh), which is Rs. 3.0 lakh more than the petrol version. Finally, the top-spec E450 4Matic with a larger 3.0L, 6-cylinder turbo petrol engine and 4-wheel drive costs Rs. 92.50 lakh.
BYD today announced the prices of their latest electric MPV, the eMax 7. It's available in 2 variants: Premium and Superior. The base Premium variant gets a 55.4kWh battery pack with an estimated range of 420km and it costs Rs. 26.90 lakh. The Superior variant gets a larger 71.8kWh variant, which has an estimated range of 530km and it carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 29.30 lakh (ex-showroom). These are prices of the 6-seat versions. Honda Cars India have launched an industry-first 7-year, unlimited kilometre extended warranty program for the Amaze, Elevate, City, and City hybrid. Customers of discontinued petrol models such as the Civic, Jazz and WR-V who are already enrolled in the extended warranty program can now avail the new 7-year extended warranty as well. It’s worth noting that the 7-year extended warranty package is not available on discontinued diesel models.
Volkswagen have rejigged the variant lineup of both the Virtus and Taigun by introducing 2 new broad trims called the Chrome and Sport. As part of the rejig, the Virtus 1.0L turbo petrol is now available in a new, sporty GT Line variant. Volkswagen have also removed the GT, GT Plus and GT Edge variants powered by the 1.5L turbo petrol engine and replaced them with the GT Plus Sport variant. Additionally, the standard Virtus and Taiun variants now get a new Highline Plus mid variant in an effort to offer “more for less”.
The Delhi government have recently started applying a registration tax of up to 10% on electric cars in the state. Since September 2024, electric cars in Delhi incur an extra 8-10% registration fee. For electric cars costing less than Rs. 10.0 lakh (ex-showroom), the registration cost is 8%. For other electric cars with ex-showroom price of Rs. 10.0 lakh or more, the registration is at a flat rate of 10%. No further tiers in registration of electric cars in Delhi.
