Check out pros and cons about the Mahindra Scorpio Classic that are worth highlighting for a potential buyer. Here are some of the highlights of the benefits of buying the Mahindra Scorpio Classic. We'll also list out the Scorpio Classic drawbacks to help you make an informed buying decision.

Scorpio Classic Advantanges
  • Rugged SUV With High Resale Value

The Scorpio nameplate is highly sought after in India and it’s famous for its rugged nature. Based on a ladder-on-frame chassis, the Scorpio Classic is capable of gobbling up all kinds of terrains. Additionally, the Scorpio enjoys high resale value in both urban and rural areas.

  • Improved Mileage And Driveability

The new Scorpio Classic offers 14% better fuel efficiency than before courtesy of an all-aluminium engine and better calibration. Furthermore, Mahindra have retuned the engine of the Scorpio Classic to offer better driveability, with over 77% of its peak torque available from 1000rpm.

  • Versatile Seating Options

Mahindra offer the Scorpio Classic with multiple seating options. Buyers can either choose a 7-seater or a 9-seater option. Furthermore, the 7-seater version comes with 2 seating configurations, captain seats with front-facing 3rd row seats or bench seats with side facing 3rd row seats. If you opt for the 7-seater version with captain seats, the Scorpio Classic offers centre armrest for the 3rd row passengers as well, which is a very rare feature in this segment.

  • Improved Refinement And Transmission

The new diesel engine in the Scorpio Classic offers better refinement and driveability than before. Additionally, thanks to the cable-operated manual transmission, it offers shorter and more precise throws with fewer vibrations than before.

Scorpio Classic Disadvantanges
  • No Value-For-Money Variant

Mahindra offer the new Scorpio Classic in S and S11 variants. While the S offers a barebone experience with a lot of missing features like remote central locking, rear wiper, height adjustable driver seat and music system, the S11 doesn’t offer enough value for the price. It fails to justify the premium over the S variant with the features it offers.

  • Price Overlap With Scorpio N

The Scorpio Classic S11 rubs its shoulders with the Scorpio N Z6 variant and is only slightly more affordable than the Z8 variants. Needless to say, the Scorpio N is a far superior product than the Scorpio Classic. The Scorpio N offers bigger dimensions, better space and comfort along with more powerful engine options.

  • Missing Features And Underwhelming Space Management

The Scorpio Classic lacks a couple of features that you would otherwise expect from an SUV of its class. These features include electric sunroof, front parking sensors, power-folding mirrors, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, the Scorpio Classic doesn’t offer good space on the inside despite having a butch presence and large dimensions. Even the space management is poor, with little to no space to store bottles and cups.
