Pro Tip: With the launch of the new model about a month and a half away, bookings for the 2019 Grand i10 should start around the end of July or early August.
The 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 will be launched in India on 20 August. The new model, which will be the third iteration of the i10 hatchback, has been spied testing in India and is likely to be bigger than the existing model. Spy images suggest that it will get a larger front grille, but will retain the silhouette of the existing model.
We expect the new Grand i10 to be more feature rich than the outgoing version. Features like dual front airbags, ABS and rear parking sensors should be standard. The top model is expected to feature multiple airbags and connected car tech.
Engine options are likely to be carried forward from the current model, which gets a 1.2-litre, 83PS petrol engine and a 1.2-litre, 75PS diesel engine. The petrol engine can be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit as well. While the petrol engine is available with both manual and automatic transmission options, the diesel engine can be had with a manual transmission only. It remains to be seen if Hyundai replaces the current 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission with an AMT or not.
Since the new Grand i10 is expected to be bigger and more feature loaded, it is expected to cost more than the current version, which is priced between Rs 4.98 lakh and Rs 7.63 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Grand i10 rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo in India.
