2020 Hyundai Venue 1.5 Diesel Launched - Prices Up By Rs. 21k - 56k
Hyundai has just launched the BS6-compliant Venue with a newer, bigger and more powerful 1.5-litre diesel engine. Naturally, the prices have gone up too but not to the degree it was expected despite a bigger engine.

Here are the prices of the older, BS4 Venue 1.4 diesel compared against the new, BS6 prices of the 2020 Hyundai Venue 1.5 diesel:

To keep the price under the psychological barrier of Rs. 10.0 lakh, the SX variant received the smallest hike of only Rs. 21,000. This also helps with keeping the taxes low for buyers in certain states, where registration charges are lower for cars under Rs. 10.0 lakh.
The S and SX (O) have received the biggest price hike of Rs. 56,000. Meanwhile, the entry-level E and SX dual-tone variants’ prices are up by a reasonable sum of Rs. 35,000.

With the new engine, the Hyudain Venue is now better equipped to tackle the other subcompact SUVs, all of which have had a bigger and more powerful 1.5-litre engine. The newer engine gives the Venue 10PS more power and 20Nm more torque. It may have been low on power before, but the all important torque of 220Nm was there even in the 1.4-litre engine. That torque output was even better than the Ford EcoSport’s rating of 205Nm despite its larger displacement.
