Along with the longer and wider body, Mercedes-Benz have also increased the front and rear tracks by 19mm and 48mm respectively. The longer wheelbase and wider tracks should liberate some more room inside the C-Class. Talking about the design, the new C-Class gets slimmer LED headlights and tail lights along with a new dashboard layout.

On the inside, we get 11.9-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment with in-built climate controls. Other features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, twin-spoke steering wheel with capacitive controls, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting and second-gen MBUX interface.

C-Class Interior

On the powertrain front, the C-Class comes with multiple petrol and diesel engine options globally. Mercedes-Benz India are yet to announce the powertrain options for the new C-Class. As of now, the current C-Class comes with 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.0L turbo diesel engine options. We expect Mercedes-Benz to offer C180, with a 1.5L turbo petrol engine, and C220d with a 2.0L turbo diesel engine. Both the engines should come with an integrated starter generator to offer power assist when needed and smooth auto-start/stop.

The exact launch dates are not yet available but the new car may go on sale by mid-2022. The new C-Class will take on the likes of the BMW 3-Series, Jaguar XE, Volvo S60, and Lexus ES300h.
