On September 2, we reported that Kia might launch the Seltos facelift in 2022. However, we have learned from reliable sources that Kia will launch the Seltos facelift in 2023. If Kia participate in the Auto Expo 2023, then we can expect Kia to showcase at the event and launch soon thereafter. Globally, Kia revealed the Seltos facelift in South Korea in June 2022.

After a span of close to 3 years, Kia are gearing up to bring the Seltos facelift to our shores in 2023. The 2023 Seltos facelift gets a bigger grille up front with a new mesh pattern. The LED headlights now see a revision and sit a little lower, whereas the LED DRLs now find their way inside the grille, rather than sitting atop the grille in the current model. Furthermore, it gets newly designed alloy wheels and connected LED tail lights.

The Seltos sold in North America featured a centre floating display for the infotainment system and an analogue instrument cluster. But the Seltos facelift in India is likely to get Mercedes-Benz-like twin connected screens for both. While the connected design isn’t new for us, the India-spec Seltos facelift will get an all-new, all-digital instrument cluster. Kia are yet to reveal the size of both the screens. Other changes include redesigned AC vents, a new steering wheel and a rotary gear selector.

We are not expecting the Seltos facelift to offer any changes in terms of engine or gearbox options. We expect Kia to continue with the same 1.5L normal petrol, 1.5L turbo diesel and 1.4L turbo petrol engines. Gearbox options will include the 6-speed manual, CVT, 7-speed dual clutch automatic and 6-speed torque converter automatic.

The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift is likely to hit Kia showrooms in early 2023. It will rival other C-segment SUVs in the segment like the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and MG Astor.
