In this April 2023 Maruti Suzuki Cars Sales Analysis article, we’ll look at the car sales of Arena and Nexa for the previous month. We’ll also compare the YoY and MoM change to find out which Maruti cars’ sales improved and which ones declined.
April 2023 - Maruti Suzuki Car Sales Figures - YoY Change
- 6 out of 14 Maruti cars saw a drop in sales figures in our YoY Maruti Suzuki car sales comparison
- Maruti produced 1,37,338 cars in April 2023 compared to 1,19,073 units in April 2022
- The Swift was the top YoY gainer, with over 110% YoY growth in the month of April, followed by Ciaz with about 76% YoY growth and Baleno with a 29% YoY rise in dispatches
- The top YoY losers were Ertiga and S-Presso, with a YoY decline of around 62%
- Ertiga and S-Presso were followed by XL6 with around 34% YoY decline
- Maruti has launched 2 cars in the past year - Grand Vitara and Fronx

April 2023 - Maruti Suzuki Car Sales Figures - MoM Change
- Sales of the top selling car by Maruti, the WagonR, increased by nearly 21% in April compared to March.
- Maruti Suzuki sold nearly 1,017 units of the Ciaz in April compared to just 300 units in March, which makes for an MoM rise of over 239%, making it the biggest gainer in the April 2023 MoM comparison for Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
- Even though by percentage the Ciaz was the top gainer, just by the absolute number of units delivered, the WagonR saw the biggest rise in sales.
- The XL6 was next on the MoM gainers’ ranking, with a 63% growth. The XL6 was followed by the Ignis with a 49% growth in MoM comparison analysis.
- Among the MoM losers, the Ertiga topped the list with around 39% decline in dispatch numbers in April MoM comparison.
- The Ertiga was followed by the Brezza with about a 27% decline in sales numbers.
