In this August 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM changes in sales figures of all MPVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all MPVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about their 6-month sales trend.
MPV Segment August 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Renault Triber saw a drop in dispatches of around 31.72% in the August 2023 YoY comparison analysis
- Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was the top-selling car in the category with about 12,300 units sold in August
- Maruti Nexa XL6 with 72.54% YoY growth was the top gainer in the August YoY comparison analysis
- 51 units of the C3 AirCross MPV from Citroen were dispatched in the month of August. It is not yet on sale in the market as of now and is expected to launch in October.

MPV Segment August 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- Among MPVs, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco and Ertiga were the top 2 sellers in August, where Eeco reported a decline of 1.5% and Ertiga saw a drop of over 14% in August MoM comparison analysis
- Triber was the sole gainer in August MoM comparison analysis with a marginal rise of 1.05%
- On the other hand, Marazzo from Mahindra, which reported a 42% decline in MoM comparison was the top losing car in the month of August
- Kia reported a decline of 27.37% in MoM comparison analysis for the month of August over July of Carens for 2023
