Citroen are set to reveal the Basalt Vision coupe SUV on March 27, 2024. The Basalt Vision is the official name for the upcoming Citroen C3X coupe SUV. The carmaker has teased the rear of the Basalt Vision’s side profile, which reveals the coupe SUV’s sloping roofline. Here’s all you need to know about the upcoming Citroen ahead of its official reveal tomorrow.

The upcoming Citroen Basalt Vision is based on Citroen’s CMP platform that also underpins the C3 Aircross C-segment SUV. Unlike the upright tailgate of the C3 Aircross, the Basalt Vision will feature a sloping roofline and a redesigned rear profile. Apart from the sloping roofline, the teaser images also show the Basalt Vision’s shark fin antenna and square-shaped tail lamps. Expect the front end to borrow styling cues from C3 Aircross, including the split headlamp setup and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Like the C3 Aircross, the upcoming Basalt Vision from Citroen could offer features such as a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver’s display and electrically-adjustable ORVMs, among others. We could also expect premium features like a wireless charging pad and electrically adjustable driver’s seat in the top variants.
We expect the Citroen Basalt Vision to feature the same 1.2L turbo petrol engine as the C3 Aircross. In the Aircross, this engine produces 110PS of power and 190Nm of torque with the manual transmission and 205Nm with the automatic. The Basalt Vision is likely to feature the same 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission options as the C3 Aircross.
When launched in the coming weeks, the Citroen Basalt Vision will become the sole coupe SUV offering in the C-segment. However, it will soon gain a rival in the form of the upcoming Tata Curvv SUV, which will offer petrol, diesel and electric powertrain options. We expect the Citroen Basalt to cost between Rs. 12.0 lakh and Rs. 14.0 lakh (ex-showroom) at launch.
