#FirstSpot: Mahindra Thar, Scorpio Classic Get Darker Stealth Black Colour, Napoli Black Is Gone | V3Cars
A source within Mahindra recently brought to our attention that starting March 2024, Mahindra have removed the Napoli Black exterior colour of the Thar and Scorpio Classic and replaced it with Stealth Black. This is a darker shade of black and it seems to be a decision taken after witnessing the overwhelming demand for #Dark editions of the Tata SUVs. While Mahindra have updated the website to reflect this change, the brochures of the Scorpio Classic and Thar are yet to reflect this update.
Tata Harrier Dark, Safari Dark Launched — Again!?!
Speaking of Tata SUVs, they too recently made the #Dark editions of their Nexon and Nexon EV available for sale. While the official communication from Tata also highlighted that the Harrier Dark and Safari Dark variants also only recently started, we know quite well that these have been on sale since they introduced their facelift in October 2023. We know this for a fact, because we did the most detailed variants explained article with the Dark variants in the price and recommendations list right from the start.

The dark edition in Tata’s terminology is basically just the regular car with black exterior and interior design elements. Tata Motors have managed to market their black colour scheme so well that people are willing to pay a substantially higher price for their #Dark edition variants.
In the Safari and Harrier, the dark variants cost Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 55,000 more than regular variants. The Nexon and Nexon EV dark variants cost Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000 more than the non-dark variants.
The Punch and Punch EV are the only SUVs in Tata’s current portfolio that don’t get the overpriced black colour scheme as of March 2024.
