Ford has been testing the EcosSport’s Titanium S variant on the Indian roads for some time. Now, the Ford EcoSport Titanium S variant has been spotted on display in a dealership in Kerala. The pictures of this car on display have been splashed on the internet revealing the variant’s added premium features. As the pictures of the Titanium S are very clear, the subcompact SUV looks very bold with an additional dollop or style and attitude in this loaded variant.
The Ford EcoSport Titanium S trim is certainly a feature loaded variant and impresses with its additional equipments and styling elements, making the already good looking SUV appear more appealing.
The EcoSport Titanium S model comes braced with features like smoked headlights, blackened front radiator grille and a new added sunroof. On the inside, the variant gets a new instrument cluster and a 6 speed transmission among others. The thing is it is not yet known if the EcoSport Titanium S model is just a display model which has been given to the Kerala showroom from the company’s export lineup, or it is actually going to be available in the Indian market for sale.
We are expecting the latter, as why would otherwise the variant be testing so much in India. Moreover, local dealership outlets really don’t display the export-spec models, as that won’t benefit them in any way when sales are concerned. Thus, we are really optimistic about the new Titanium S model trim to be introduced officially to the Indian lineup of the EcoSport subcompact SUV. However, right now there are no details regarding the launch of the EcoSport Titanium S in India, and Ford India has not offered any official details regarding the same.
At present, the Ford EcoSport mini SUV is offered for sale in India with two engine options, namely a 1.5L 3-cylinder petrol mill from the Dragon series offering a max power of 122 Bhp and a top torque of 150 Nm; and a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor that delivers 100 PS and 205 Nm. Both the mills come mated to a 5 speed manual transmission as standard, while the petrol motor also comes with a 6 speed torque converter automatic transmission gearbox as an option.
When the S variants of the Ford models are concerned, the sportier and more loaded variants typically come with stiffer suspension setup for better handling along with an array of added new features. The S variants of several Ford cars have been offering similar features including the ones like the Figo, Aspire and Fiesta. Thus, although not confirmed as yet, the EcoSport Titanium S will also most probably get endowed with a stiffer suspension system.
Now, only time will tell if the petrol and the diesel engines powering the Ford EcoSport will be offering additional power or not to make the Titanium S variant really sportier. The 6 speed manual transmission gearbox will be a really appreciated addition, as it will really offer a more engaging drive.
