If the Ford Ranger Raptor render images are to be believed, it would look absolutely splendid. As per the latest reports, it seems that the American auto maker is getting ready to introduce its new upcoming Ranger Raptor first in the car market of Australia before any other market, and its launch in the U.S car market also seems to be distant at least for now. This is because the standard version of the Ford Ranger is not an immediate U.S-bound model, and is expected to make its debut in the U.S market only in 2019. The new Ford Ranger Raptor is expected to make its world premiere sometime in 2018.

Details on the new Ranger Raptor are really scarce at the moment, so the under the hood details are really obscure for now. However, there’s no harm guessing, and it is expected that the American maker will be endowing the new Raptor with one EcoBoost engine option at least. Nevertheless, power details are really hard to tell with no concrete report currently. Then again speculations about a probable diesel engine choice are going around. These speculations could actually turn out to be true if one considers the fact that the post its market launch, the Ranger Raptor would be fighting with the likes of the current-gen Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 which comes with a diesel option.

Ford could also be offering a tweaked version of the 2.7 liter EcoBoost V-6 mill under the hood of the upcoming Ranger Raptor, which is doing the duty on the F-150. This would be a rather good choice, as the engine is not a massive unit, is light weight and can be tuned rather easily to alter the power or/and torque outputs. The ongoing 2.7 liter motor has the capability to churn out a max power output of 325 hp along with 400 lb-ft of peak torque. The American auto major can easily make adjustments in the unit as per the needs to suite the new vehicle. Hypothetically speaking, the 2.3 liter inline four-pot that does the duty under the hood of the Mustang could be another engine choice.

For now, simply enjoy the rendered images of the Ranger Raptor and its marvelous body colour options. We sure hope Ford actually offers these paint choices.
