With the electric vehicles becoming the latest trend, all the major car makers of the world are very busy developing new, advanced electric car models. Due to the development of multiple electric car models, many auto majors are also introducing a sub-brand for their upcoming electric vehicles (EVs). As EVs are the need of the hour, such moves from the global auto giants are really appreciable. Very recently, the Japanese auto major Honda Motor has announced the launch of its new EV brand named as the Everus at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show. Honda also unveiled the new Everus EV Concept model offers a preview to the very first model under the banner of the newly formed Everus brand.
The new Everus EV Concept is an all-electric SUV model. Honda revealed at the Beijing Auto Show 2018 that the production version of the Everus EV Concept will be hitting the Chinese market by the end of the current year. While it is confirmed that the Everus EV Concept SUV is almost production ready and not a concept in the truest sense, Honda has not offered many details on the concept car. Nevertheless, it is apparent that the Everus EV Concept is based on HR-V subcompact crossover model, as the overall design is very similar to the HR-V’s. Honda has ensured that the front fascia of the Everus EV Concept is highly distinctive though, so that it can be marked apart as an entirely new vehicle.
Honda said that its new Everus EV brand will be targeting the young car buyers, as the models will offer better and additional connectivity options to the occupants. The new upcoming EV models under the Everus brand will also be able to be shared on Reachstar, which is a Chinese ride-sharing company that has listed Honda as their investor.
The Japanese auto major is increasingly focusing on electric cars, and has recently showcased multiple EV concept models which have grabbed a lot of attention. Honda launched the new Clarity Electric range in the US car market in 2017 and is all braced up to launch the production version of its much appreciated Urban EV Concept that was displayed at the 2017 Frankfurt auto show.
As the governments are pushing for electric vehicles, all the auto giants of the globe are focusing on electric vehicles. Honda is very much focused on expanding its electric vehicle lineup and electrifying its current car range. As per Honda’s 2030 business strategy vision (Vision Strategy), which the car maker announced in 2017, around two-thirds of the Honda cars will have some form of electrification by the end of the year 2030. While the current lineup might be going more the plug-in hybrid way, Honda is definitely concentrating on electric vehicles, while the fuel cell cars are also on its cards.
Honda also showcased the Honda Accord Hybrid and the Inspire concept at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show as part of its electrified vehicle range.
