The modern auto industry is all for sustainable and eco-friendly car models. Gone are the days when auto enthusiasts would just long for brute force and power and auto makers would offer massive fuel guzzling engines in their vehicles, which would pollute the air with obnoxious poisonous gases, just in the name of performance. Well, these auto practices to please the performance fanatics are disappearing fast enough for good. The powerful machines on four wheels have done enough damage to the environment, which is irreversible and we certainly don’t want more of it. While power hungry auto enthusiasts are obviously still there, and so are some massive ancient engines, but they are very few now, and their days are thought to be numbered as well. This is the rising era of sustainable alternative mobility system, and the global automotive industry is moving towards full electrification and other fully green technologies. The auto majors are also hugely altering their conventional fuel powered vehicles of the present times in order to make them frugal and easier on the environment.

One such modern day practice of the automotive industry is the usage of the more compact turbocharged engines. The trend of the turbocharged mills started quite some time back in order to reduce fuel consumption, while not affecting the performance level considerably. These light, compact and frugal engines have made a huge impact on the current car market, as buyers can actually enjoy both performance and fuel economy at the same time. The turbocharged two liter, 4 cylinder engines are particularly the favorite of the global car manufacturing giants. These engines are being widely used under the hoods of all sorts of vehicles which offer fuel efficiency to meet the new emission norms, while also offering impressive power to keep the car buyers happy. Thus, the two liter turbo mills are offering a win-win situation.

More recently, these turbo engines are also making surprise appearances under the hoods of large performance centric vehicles. The true blue-blooded sports car, Jaguar F-Type is a perfect surprising example of this market trend. The Jaguar F-Type is specifically a very intriguing and cool example, as a fascinating sports car like it is instinctively thought to pack in ultra-high performance supercharged engines. However, instead of a V8 or V6 mill, when the F-Type packs in a small 4-cylinder mill, it can really seem underwhelming for many.

Nevertheless, the Jaguar F-Type 2.0 liter doesn’t disappoint at all. On the contrary, it is a very high spirited car which offers the real engaging drive experience that is expected from a superb sports car like it. Along with mesmerizing looks, the Jaguar F-Type impresses you with its performance. Its 300hp certainly doesn’t sound very impressive, but the 2.0L turbo unit is fast enough and efficient offering 155 mph of top speed. It propels the F-Type to do a 0-60 mph in just 5.4 seconds.

Being lighter and more aerodynamic, the Jaguar F-Type also offers amazing handling and awesome maneuverability. On top of all, this small engine also makes the Jaguar F-Type a lot less expensive. What more reasons do you want to love this small engine from Jaguar?
