Mahindra To Showcase 4 New Concepts On Aug 15; Vision S, Vision X, Vision T & Vision SXT

The names of the 4 concept cars Mahindra will reveal are as follows:

• Vision S
• Vision X
• Vision T
• Vision SXT

Among these, we can say with some confidence that the Vision T is likely to be some version of Thar while the Vision S is going to be a version of Scorpio N. The Vision X could be a future version of the Bolero Neo/Neo Plus. We can’t quite put our finger on the Vision SXT yet and we think this is going to be a new car altogether that attempts to embody the traits of all the other three as the name suggests.

Do note that the 3 cars we believe Mahindra will showcase are all body-on-frame SUVs. The Freedom NU platform, we believe, could be a hybrid platform for future body-on-frame SUVs but with the ability to support electric as well as petrol/diesel powertrain options.

Given the weak demand for electric powertrains among body-on-frame SUV buyers, this common platform could help them ease into the world of EVs in the next few years while Mahindra prepare to electrify their lineup.
