In this January 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all A-segment hatchbacks in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all A-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.
A-Segment Hatchback January 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Among mass volume cars from the A-segment hatchback category, the Alto K10 and Alto were the only gainers, with a 73% YoY growth in January
- The Kwid saw the biggest YoY change in January 2023, with a decline of 97% in January 2023 over January 2022
- Maruti’s Celerio also saw a 59% decline in dispatch figures over that of January 2022

A-Segment Hatchback January 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- Renault Kwid was the only MoM loser in the A-segment in January 2023, with a decrease of 97% over December
- The S-Presso was the top-gainer in January MoM comparison analysis with a 261% rise in dispatches
- The S-Presso was followed by the Celerio with 213% decline and Alto twins with 147% growth in numbers
- A-segment hatchbacks saw an overall growth in sales in January 2023.
