Iconic American SUV manufacturer Jeep has tasted great success in the Indian market within a short period of time. Initially, Jeep’s premium highly expensive models didn’t get good response in India, but then Jeep launched its very first India-made Compass SUV, which proved to be a superb game changer. The Jeep Compass launched in end July 2017, and well before its first anniversary in India, it has crossed the sales milestone of 25,000 units. This makes the Compass the best selling luxury vehicle in the car market of India.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), the Italian parent company of Jeep, is not having a good time in India, as the Fiat branded cars are low selling here. However, launching the Jeep brand in India has proved to be great decision for FCA India. FCA India is concentrating more on the Jeep brand. As Jeep already has an average monthly sales of over 2,000 units, FCA is now planning to launch two more SUVs in India under the Jeep brand. The company plans to launch a sub-4 meter SUV model and a mid-sized 3-row SUV model, both of which are in high demand in India. It has been also reported that both of these new SUV models will be made in India just like the Compass, which will ensure competitive pricing and success in the price sensitive Indian market. These two new products under the FCA Group will be launched in India by 2022.
