The Japan-spec Suzuki Fronx, which is manufactured in India, has achieved a 4-star safety rating from the Japan New Car Assessment Programme (JNCAP). This highlights the Fronx’s safety performance in the Japanese market, where it is exported.

In its latest crash tests, JNCAP gave the made-in-India Fronx a strong 84 percent score. The Fronx achieved 163.75 points out of a possible 193.8 points. In specific assessments, the Fronx scored:

While the Fronx performed well in many areas, it did not achieve a 5-star rating due to lower scores in certain tests. These included rear-seat frontal crash protection, pedestrian head protection, and AEB performance, particularly in JNCAP's tests of Junction AEB. The Fronx was marked down for not having pretensioners for the rear seatbelts.
It is important to note that the JNCAP crash test results and overall scores are not valid for the Indian market. The Suzuki Fronx exported to Japan gets a more comprehensive suite of safety features compared to the model sold in India. It gets additional features such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and a lane departure prevention system.
In India, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is available with a starting price of Rs 7.55 lakh , going up to Rs 12.91 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered with 3 engine options – a 1.2L normal petrol, 1.2L CNG and a 1.0L turbo petrol. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT for the normal petrol engine, a 5-speed manual for the CNG variants, and a 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter (TC) automatic for the turbo petrol engine.
