Mercedes-Benz India have launched the EQS 580 at Rs. 1.55 crore. India is the only market outside of Germany where Mercedes assembles the EQS 580 luxury electric sedan. The bookings for the made-in-India EQS 580 are currently open for a token amount of Rs. 25 lakh. Interestingly, the made-in-India EQS 580 undercuts the S-Class by around Rs. 5 lakh, thanks to the lower tax impositions on the EQS.

The Mercedes EQS 580 sits between the EQS 450+ and the performance grade 53 AMG model. It packs the same 107.8kWh battery pack as the 450+ and comes with all-wheel-drive. The EQS 580’s 2 electric motors produce 523PS of power and 855Nm of torque. The EQS 580 offers an ARAI-certified range of 857km on a single charge. The EQS 580 can be charged from 10-100% in around 5 hours via a 22kW AC charger. With a 200kW DC fast charger, the EQS can be charged from 10-80% in around 31 minutes.
