Made-In-India Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 Launched At Rs. 1.55 Crore | V3Cars

Mercedes-Benz India have launched the EQS 580 at Rs. 1.55 crore. India is the only market outside of Germany where Mercedes assembles the EQS 580 luxury electric sedan. The bookings for the made-in-India EQS 580 are currently open for a token amount of Rs. 25 lakh. Interestingly, the made-in-India EQS 580 undercuts the S-Class by around Rs. 5 lakh, thanks to the lower tax impositions on the EQS.

The Mercedes EQS 580 sits between the EQS 450+ and the performance grade 53 AMG model. It packs the same 107.8kWh battery pack as the 450+ and comes with all-wheel-drive. The EQS 580’s 2 electric motors produce 523PS of power and 855Nm of torque. The EQS 580 offers an ARAI-certified range of 857km on a single charge. The EQS 580 can be charged from 10-100% in around 5 hours via a 22kW AC charger. With a 200kW DC fast charger, the EQS can be charged from 10-80% in around 31 minutes.

The EQS measures 5216mm in length, 1926mm in width, 1512mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3210mm. The India-spec S-Class LWB is 5289mm long, 1954mm wide, and 1503mm tall. The wheelbase of the EQS is 6mm shorter than that of the India-spec S-Class LWB. So the S-Class is slightly bigger than the EQS in every dimension, except in height.

In terms of features, the EQS 580 offers the hyperscreen that includes a 17.7-inch centre touchscreen and a pair of 12.3-inch screens for driver and co-passenger. Other features include 3D maps, a head-up display, massaging seats, Burmester sound system, 9 airbags and rear-wheel-steering.
