Hatchbacks Segment March 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- In terms of sales, the B-segment hatchback was the best-selling segment in the Indian market
- The Tiago was the best performing hatchback in March 2023 YoY comparison, with a 84% rise in dispatches as compared to March 2022
- The i20 was the second best performing car in the category, with a 40.55% YoY growth in March 2023
- Disregarding the cars that reported zero sales in March 2023, the S-Presso from Maruti was the biggest loser, with around 69% decline in sales. The Kwid was the second biggest loser with a 48% decline in dispatches in the March YoY comparison
- The Ignis also reported a YoY decline of 38% in March
- The cars that were discontinued are:
- Honda Jazz (Discontinued in 2023)
- Hyundai Santro (Discontinued in 2022)
- Mahindra KUV100 (Discontinued in 2023)
- Volkswagen Polo (Discontinued in 2022)
Hatchback Segment March 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- The Swift claimed the top spot, with over 17,500 units sold in the month of March.
- Most cars in the category reported an MoM decline in March, except Celerio with 4.22% and WagonR with 2.46%.
- The Alto pair emerged as the top MoM loser in the month of March, with about 50% decline in dispatch numbers.
- Among the notable MoM losers were the I20, S-Presso and Ignis, with their dispatches declining by around 29%, 35% and 42% respectively.
