The new Baleno is offered in 5 variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha and Alpha (O). The 2026 Baleno gets significant mechanical changes, including new petrol and CNG engines. It also gets ADAS, making it the first hatchback in the B2-segment to offer the advanced safety feature.

Priced at Rs. 8.32 lakh (ex-showroom), the Baleno Delta CNG-automatic variant costs Rs. 40,000 more than the Delta CNG-manual variant. Update (Sep 10, 2026): This story has been updated with the latest variant-wise prices of the 2026 Maruti Baleno. The Baleno now starts at Rs. 5,98,900, which is Rs. 11,000 lower than the price Maruti announced at launch.
Here are the variant-wise ex-showroom prices of the 2026 Baleno:
The petrol-automatic variants cost Rs. 50,000 more than their corresponding manual variants across the Delta, Zeta, Alpha and Alpha (O) trims. The Delta and Zeta CNG-manual variants cost Rs. 92,500 more than their corresponding petrol-manual variants. The Delta CNG-automatic variant costs Rs. 40,000 more than the corresponding CNG-manual variant.
The Alpha (O), which is the new top variant of the Baleno, carries a Rs. 40,000 premium over the Alpha with either transmission.
Maruti had announced a starting price of Rs. 6,09,900 for the new Baleno at launch. The latest price list puts the Sigma at Rs. 5,98,900, making it Rs. 11,000 cheaper.

For the MY2026 update, Maruti Suzuki have made significant changes to the Baleno’s petrol and CNG powertrains. Both engines now feature 3-cylinder configurations, down from the 4-cylinder engines offered in the outgoing Baleno. The new petrol engine produces 8PS less power and 1Nm less torque than the outgoing engine. However, Maruti Suzuki have managed to improve the fuel efficiency of the new Baleno.
The CNG powertrain also gets a 3-cylinder engine, which produces 7PS less power but 3Nm more torque than the outgoing 4-cylinder engine. The additional torque is produced at a lower engine speed, which should improve the Baleno’s low-speed drivability.
Maruti Suzuki launched the 2026 Baleno CNG AMT on September 18, 2026. Check out the CNG specifications below:

While the new Baleno’s petrol and CNG engines bring improvements in efficiency and, in the case of the CNG, low-speed torque, the switch from 4-cylinder to 3-cylinder engines could have an impact on refinement.
We have now driven the new Baleno with the 3-cylinder petrol engine. It is noticeably noisier at lower RPM than the outgoing 4-cylinder engine, although vibrations are very well controlled and almost negligible inside the cabin.
The outgoing Baleno was still noticeably smoother and quieter. However, the new engine does not feel excessively noisy or bothersome by 3-cylinder standards. It also feels livelier at lower RPM despite producing slightly less power and torque.

The Baleno facelift now offers Level-2 ADAS, making it the first hatchback in the B2-segment to offer this advanced safety feature. ADAS features include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure prevention, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, safe exit warning and high beam assist, among others.
It also retains safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree camera, rear wiper and washer, rear defogger, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and hill-hold assist.

The 2026 Baleno retains the overall silhouette of the outgoing model, but Maruti Suzuki have made a few changes to the front-end such as a larger front grille with horizontal chrome accents, new bumpers and fog lamps. It also gets a chrome fender garnish.
The basic proportions as well as the side and rear profiles of the Baleno remain largely unchanged, as the 2026 model is a facelift rather than an all-new generation.
On the inside, the Baleno now offers leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, a wireless charger and a Clarion sound system. It retains existing features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, head-up display, analogue instrument cluster with TFT MID and rear AC vents. The updated Baleno does not offer a sunroof.

The 2026 Maruti Baleno is offered in the following colours:
The 2026 Maruti Baleno continues to compete with B2-segment hatchbacks such as the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz.

Maruti are currently accepting bookings for the 2026 Baleno for a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Interested customers can book the Baleno at their nearest Maruti Nexa dealership. Maruti have not shared a delivery timeline yet. However, we expect the hatchback to start rolling off dealership floors in the coming weeks.
