Maruti Suzuki India has increased production of its one of the most loved Vitara Brezza SUV. According to the company, the production of Vitara Brezza has increased 10 per cent to 94,000 units during April-October 2018- 19 compared to the same duration last year. Currently, the waiting period for the SUV is between four to six weeks in the country.
Announcing the increased production and availability of Vitara Brezza, Mr. R.S. Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki said, “The high demand for our popular models such as the Vitara Brezza is a testimony of our best in class technology, design and customer experience. With the Suzuki Motor Gujarat plant operational at its full capacity of 2.5 lakh units annually in Gujarat, we are able to increase the output. We are confident that with the reduced waiting period, we will be able to enhance the car buying and ownership experience of our customers.”
Maruti Suzuki had launched the Vitara Brezza in the country in March 2016 for the first time. Till date, the SUV has successfully crossed the sales mark of 3.5 lakh units in the Indian market and achieved the fastest 3 lakh sales mark in the SUV segment in just 28 months. Maruti Suzuki introduced dual- tone colors making it first in its segment with the Vitara Breeza. The Maruti Vitara Brezza is available in four variants: LDI, VDI, ZDI and ZDI+ with prices ranging between Rs 7.58 lakh to Rs 10.55 lakh (ex- showroom, Delhi).
Under the hood, the SUV offers only one engine option - a 1.3- litre DDiS200 diesel unit that produces 89 bhp of power and 200 Nm of peak torque. This engine is offered with a choice of a 5- speed manual transmission as well as a 5- speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The claimed fuel efficiency for Vitara Breeza is 24.3 kmpl. The sub- 4 metre SUV comes equipped with a number of advanced features such as Suzuki’s SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink functions apart from a rear parking camera, cruise control, rain-sensing auto wipers, push-button stop/start, automatic climate control in the higher-spec variants. On the other hand, the Vitara Brezza gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Isofix child seat anchors, rear parking sensors and front seatbelts with pretensioners and force limiters as standard safety features across the range.
The manufacturer also offered two- pedal technology, Auto Gear Shift, on Vitara Brezza this year in May. With its penetration as high as 49 per cent in Mumbai and 39 per cent in Delhi, the technology received quite good response from the customers in the market. Maruti Suzuki also upgraded the exterior and interior to enhance the bold and sporty character of the SUV simultaneously. Maruti offers the Vitara Brezza with ‘iCreate’ customization kits with various options ranging between Rs 18,000 to Rs 30,000. Recently, the Vitara Breeza scored 4- stars safety rating in Global NCAP crash tests becoming the fifth made- in- India vehicle to receive that. The other cars with a 4- star safety rating are the Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Etios, Tata Zest and the Tata Nexon.
Maruti Suzuki had sold over 1.48 lakh units of Vitara Brezza in 2017- 18 and during the first seven months this year from April to October 2018-19, the manufacturer has already clocked the sales of around 95,000 units of Vitara Brezza. With this speed, the SUV is expected to cross the 2017-18 mark soon in the country this year. Currently, Maruti Suzuki is also working on a Limited Edition Vitara Breeza. The SUV takes against the likes of the Ford Ecosport, Mahindra TUV 300, Honda WR-V, Tata Nexon and the upcoming Mahindra S201.
