Maruti Suzuki Launches BS6 WagonR LXI CNG At Rs. 5.25 lakh
Just days after pulling the curtains on the Auto Expo 2020, Maruti Suzuki has launched the WagonR with CNG fuel option. It’s available in LXI and LXI (O) variants with a 1.0-litre normal petrol engine. The WagonR LXI CNG costs Rs. 5.25 lakh while the LXI (O) CNG costs Rs. 5.32 lakh.
This puts in contention with the Hyundai Santro CNG, which is available in Magna and Sportz variants for Rs. 5.48 lakh and Rs. 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively. It gets a 1.1-litre engine.

With a growing number of CNG dispensing stations across the country, Maruti Suzuki is hoping to see a similar ripple effect in the sales of the cars. Similarly, Hyundai is also expanding the range of cars in its lineup with the CNG fuel option. Currently, Hyundai has Santro, Grand i10 (not Nios) and Aura available with factory-fit CNG kit option. Maruti Suzuki has Alto K10, Celerio, WagonR and Ertiga with CNG kit while the S-Presso is also about to get the option of factory-fit CNG kit.
