Maruti Suzuki has launched the S-Cross facelift in the country. The crossover has been priced at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car comes with over 95% localization and the manufacturer along with its suppliers, has invested over Rs 100 crore towards development of the new S-Cross facelift. The S-Cross facelift will be available in four variants- Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha and offers a refreshed body style and features.

The 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross comes powered only by the 1.3-litre diesel engine, DDiS 200 that comes with the company's Smart Hybrid from Suzuki (SHVS) technology, which includes idle-stop start, torque assist, brake energy regeneration system and a gearshift indicator while the manufacturer has discontinued the Fiat-sourced 1.6-litre diesel engine. The 1.3-litre diesel engine continues to produce 89 bhp of maximum power and 200 Nm of peak torque, while the transmission duties will be carried by a 5-speed manual gearbox. Although, the engine specs remain the same, the fuel efficiency has gone up from 23.65kmpl to 25.1kmpl, a 7 per cent increase. The increase in fuel efficiency is despite the 35kg increase in weight.

Talking about the design and styling, the updated Maruti Suzuki S-Cross gets an all-new face dominated by a new chrome grille and a pair of redesigned head lamps. Projector lights with LED DRLs, new beefier front bumper with a wider airdam, and restyled fog lamps are some of the highlights to be seen on the exterior. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift will also feature a sportier set of alloy wheels and redesigned ORVMs with integrated turn signal lights. Apart from these, the top end model is likely to get LED tail lamps, along with a revised rear bumper.

At the interior, the car offers a revamped dashboard, new upholstery and a new touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with MirrorLink. Some of the already offered features are leather wrapped steering wheel, HID projector headlamps, LED Positioning Lamps, reverse parking camera, leather seat upholstery, Smartplay infotainment system, 16-inch alloy wheels, navigation, voice command, auto dimming Inside Rear View Mirror, cruise control, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wiper.

The safety features of the S-Cross facelift will offer dual airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard across variants as other Maruti Suzuki cars. The additional features include keyless entry with push start and stop button, rear parking sensor and rear camera. The updated S-Cross will be available in five exterior colour options - Nexa Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Caffeine Brown, Premium Silver, and Granite Grey. Nexa Blue color has replaced the Urban Blue as the exterior color option.

The new S-Cross facelift will continue to be retailed via Maruti's premium dealership chain – Nexa. The facelifted S-Cross will go up against the likes of usual rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Ford EcoSport.
