The new Suzuki XL7 has made its global debut in Indonesia. Since the 7-seater XL7 shares its basic platform, body shell and cabin architecture with the Maruti XL6, it gives us the clearest preview yet of the expected 2026 XL6 facelift.

Suzuki have unveiled the updated XL7 at the 2026 GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show. The facelift receives several exterior and feature updates while retaining its existing platform and powertrain.
Maruti Suzuki have not officially confirmed the XL6 facelift for India. However, the new XL7 gives us a strong indication of the changes the 2026 Maruti XL6 facelift could receive.
The most noticeable XL7 facelift changes are concentrated at the front. Suzuki have introduced a taller and wider grille along with a redesigned bumper. The bumper now gets C-shaped outer sections that house the LED fog lamps. Suzuki have also revised the silver-coloured lower bumper trim.
Other exterior changes include:

The official XL7 images also reveal that the exterior treatment varies by variant.
The top New Alpha Hybrid gets black satin accents for the grille and headlamps. It also receives black-painted alloy wheels, black door handles, darker side trim and black detailing for the roof rails.

The Beta and Zeta variants use satin-silver grille accents, chrome headlamp detailing, polished alloy wheels and silver or body-coloured trim for several exterior components.
The XL7’s dashboard layout remains largely unchanged.

However, all variants now get a Metallic Hagane Dark Silver finish for the dashboard ornament and centre-console garnish. The New Alpha Hybrid and New Beta Hybrid also receive the new finish on the steering-wheel garnish.
The more important cabin update is the new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Suzuki offer it as standard across the XL7 facelift range in Indonesia. The system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and uses Arkamys sound-processing software.
The current India-spec XL6 uses a smaller 7-inch touchscreen. Hence, the 9-inch unit would be a meaningful upgrade for the facelift.
However, several of the XL7’s other highlighted features are already offered with the XL6. Higher variants of the Maruti MPV already get:
The XL7 New Alpha Hybrid additionally gets a factory-fitted dashcam. It remains to be seen whether Maruti Suzuki will introduce this feature with the India-spec facelift.
The Indonesia-spec XL7 continues with its existing 1.5L K15B petrol engine. Suzuki offer their Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki mild-hybrid system with the New Alpha Hybrid and New Beta Hybrid variants. The Indonesian model is available with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The 2026 Maruti XL6 facelift is likely to retain the current India-spec K15C powertrains:
Since the India-spec XL6 uses the K15C engine and a 6-speed TC automatic, while the Indonesian XL7 retains the K15B engine and 4-speed automatic, the XL7’s mechanical package is unlikely to influence the Indian facelift.
Maruti Suzuki originally introduced the XL6 in August 2019. The model received its last major update in April 2022, when it gained revised styling, additional features and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The current design is now over 4 years old. Meanwhile, the XL6 faces competition from newer MPVs such as the Kia Carens Clavis. XL6 sales fell 28.1 percent month on month to 2,711 units in June 2026, its lowest monthly figure during the first half of the year. While one weak month does not establish a sustained decline, a facelift could help renew buyer interest in the model.
Maruti Suzuki have not announced an India launch date for the XL6 facelift. Current reports suggest the updated model could arrive towards the end of 2026.
The current Maruti XL6 is priced from Rs. 11.57 lakh to Rs. 14.53 lakh. Maruti last revised XL6 prices in June 2026, increasing different variants by up to Rs. 10,000.
If the facelift receives primarily cosmetic and infotainment updates, we expect a moderate price increase.
The new Suzuki XL7 does not confirm every change planned for the India-spec XL6. However, it offers the strongest preview yet of Maruti Suzuki’s expected update.
The redesigned grille, revised bumper, new alloy wheels and 9-inch touchscreen are the most likely additions. At the rear, the facelift could receive the XL7’s black accents for the combination lamps and other minor trim changes.

The existing petrol, automatic and CNG powertrains are likely to continue. Maruti Suzuki could announce the final specifications and variant-wise feature distribution closer to the facelift’s India launch.
