German luxury car major, Mercedes-Benz is busy working on a number of new models as usual, and the company is also preparing to bring in a new range of electric vehicle models, the first of which will be a new member of the Mercedes EQ family.
Earlier Mercedes-Benz introduced the Generation EQ all-electric SUV at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The all-electric SUV wowed the audience with its claimed performance and technological brilliance, but many were not so impressed with it’s over the top styling.
Mercedes-Benz replaced the traditional grille on the EQ SUV with glass and flashy LED lights. This looks very futuristic and flashy, but somehow could be better executed and it left the audience desiring to see something more impressive.
On the positive side, the German car giant said that the electric SUV model is capable of offering over 400 bhp of max power and come with a very impressive range of 310 miles, which also means that it would directly go up against the Tesla Model X and the likes.
As per some reports, Mercedes-Benz is planning to bring a range of ten new all-electric vehicle models, all of which will expand the company’s EQ range by the year 2025. As far as the new EQ plug-in electric car concept is concerned, it is expected to be showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show and it will be a compact car model.
The new EV concept is speculated to be highly futuristic and is expected to be the electrified and fully overhauled version of the ongoing A-Class model. However, concrete details about the new EV model are really scarce and nothing is confirmed as yet. Nevertheless, we don’t have to wait long before Mercedes-Benz showcases the concept car and reveals its important features and capabilities.
Moreover, the German auto major will also offer the auto enthusiasts the opportunity to get a closer look at the fascinating new Mercedes-AMG Project ONE hypercar at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor show.
This Formula One inspired Coupe is speculated to offer an unbelievable max power output of up to 1,000 bhp. With its incredible power and performance the AMG Project One hyper car will also have an incredible price tag which will be around £2.4million.
Mercedes-Benz is also promoting the adaptation of zero or low emissions cars. While it is increasingly focusing on full-electric vehicles, the company has also introduced a diesel scrappage initiative. Through this scheme, the car giant is encouraging owners to get a cash incentive on the purchase of a new lower emission car in exchange of their old more polluting car.
The customers can avail up to a good £2,000 incentive if they choose to exchange their old car to purchase a brand new Mercedes-Benz model.
