The highly important biennial Indian auto show, the Auto Expo will be held in February of 2018, and we expect to see the unveiling and official launch of innumerable new cars at the event alongside a plethora of many interesting showcases. India’s leading luxury auto brand, Mercedes-Benz continues with its aggressive launch strategy and thus, year 2018 will also see the launch of abundant Mercedes models in India. Mercedes-Benz India will be making the most of the 2018 Auto Expo by launching the updated S-Class, apart from showcasing its other products.
As per the latest reports, it is confirmed that the Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift will be launched at the 2018 Auto Expo. While a lot of the car’s details are already known, the actual list of features as well as the official price of the updated S-Class will be revealed only upon its official market launch in India. The S-Class is the flagship model of Mercedes-Benz India and it gets locally manufactured at the Chakan plant in Pune. The Chakan plant is also the only facility in the world outside Europe, which produces the Mercedes S-Class.
The new updated S-Class caught recently spied while it was going through the emissions testing. In terms of exterior design changes, the refreshed S-Class gets endowed with new headlight clusters, tail lights and new bumpers both at front and rear. The facelift model has been also fitted with newly designed alloy wheels.
On the inside the Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift also gets a lot of good updates to mark it apart from the outgoing model. It continues with the patent luxurious and highly impressive cabin, but offers enhancements and added features to make it even more premium. It comes with two new 12.3 inch high definition display screens which work as the infotainment display and the central command display. The updated model will also offer classy wood trim and leather options for the seats as well as the side panels. The new model has also been endowed with new seats along with an added new fragrance function alongside the usual cooled, heated and massaging functionalities to offer a cocoon of luxury to the passengers. However, the final list of features will be revealed during the S-Class facelift’s actual Indian launch.
In India, the new refreshed Mercedes-Benz S-Class will come powered with new inline 6 cylinder petrol and diesel engine options, while the top of the range twin-turbocharged V8 mill will also be there. The S-Class will obviously also come in its powerful performance centric AMG versions in its sedan, coupe and convertible body-style versions, while the mega luxurious long wheelbase Maybach version will also be offered. Similar to the outgoing model, the new Mercedes S-Class facelift model will also get assembled in Mercedes-Benz’s India facility, which includes the top of line V8 long wheelbase Maybach model.
The official price list of the luxury car will be revealed at launch, but it will certainly be above Rs. 1 crore mark.
