German luxury auto major Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to take the wraps off the new refreshed Mercedes C-class at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show that will be held in the month of March. The upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class facelift will be receiving comprehensive updates in order to fight better with its market rivals.

The C-Class is Mercedes-Benz’s bestselling as thus, also the highest produced product. The new updated C-Class will come with a whole range of updates and changes both on the outside and on the inside, while there will also be a new 2.0 litre diesel motor for the global markets. The 2.1 litre engine that powers the ongoing models C 220d and C 250d will get replaced by a new 4 cylinder engine that will offer more power as well as fuel efficiency.

The refreshed C-Class’ rest of the engine lineup is likely to be retained, which means the entry-level C 200 will be getting powered by the 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine generating a max power out of 184 hp, while the higher petrol model trims will be packing in a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder mill which delivers a peak power of 245 hp. For the global markets, the hybrid C 300h and plug-in hybrid C 350e variants will be also offered as now. When the Indian car market is concerned, it is really not known which of these engines will be offered to power the new C-Class.

When the exterior styling updates are concerned, the new refreshed Mercedes C-Class will be flaunting new LED headlights which are similar to the ones found on the new E-class. There will be redesigned front bumper with new air intakes and a new more sloping radiator grille. To make things appear fresher, the luxury model will also get added chrome garnish on its side skirts and rear bumper.

On the inside, the updated C-Class will also offer a number of changes. It will also offer an updated infotainment system just like the recently revealed S-class facelift. The new C-Class will also most probably get a lot of other features from its elder sibling, the S-Class. These expected features include a new touchpad as well as new steering with an array of mounted controls for in-car infotainment. Moreover, the cabin is also likely to be endowed with a restyled instrument panel apart from many other subtle but good updates including a subtle design update to the dashboard.

The top of the range AMG-spec models, namely the C 43 and C 63 will obviously also get good amount of updates. These performance variants will be launched a bit after the standard variants have gone on sale. However, the powerful engines – the 3.0 litre V6 powering the C 43 and 4.0 litre V8 powering the C 63 will be retained.

Mercedes-Benz India has been very proactive in launching new and refreshed models. Thus, the company is expected to launch the refreshed C-class in the Indian market sometime in 2018. The popular C-Class fights with the Audi A4, the BMW 3-series, the Volvo S60 and the likes in India.
