MG Motor have rejigged the Comet EV variant lineup yet again. This time around, the 2024 Comet EV gets a fast charging option with 2 of its variants. Prices for the Comet 2024 start from Rs. 6.99 lakh to Rs. 9.14 lakh (ex-showroom).

MG are now offering the mid and top variant of the Comet EV with the option of a 7.4kW AC charger. The carmaker is yet to state a 0-100% charging time for Comet EV with the new charger. For reference, the standard 3.3kW AC charger takes around 7 hours to charge the Comet EV from 0-100%. So the new charger should theoretically reduce charging time by half, to around 3.5 hours.
Meanwhile, MG have also renamed the 3 variants of the Comet EV from Pace, Play and Plush to Executive, Excite and Exclusive. The new Executive variant of the MG Comet EV is Rs. 20,000 more expensive than the previous Pace base variant. Prices of the Excite and Exclusive variants with the standard 3.3kW AC charger remain unchanged.
For a premium of Rs. 35,800, the FC variants offers the following additional features:

The MG Comet EV comes with a 17.3kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor mounted on the rear axle. It produces 42PS of power and 110Nm of torque and offers a claimed driving range of 230km on a full charge.
The MG Comet EV does not have any direct rivals in the Indian EV market thanks to its 2-door configuration and diminutive size. However, it competes with the Tata Tiago EV in terms of price, with the electric Tata costing between Rs. 8.0 lakh and Rs. 11.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
