The new generation Peugeot 5008 has been introduced in the car market of Ireland. The new model of 7-seater SUV will be gracing the Peugeot showrooms, alongside the Irish Small SUV of the Year 2017 Peugeot 2008; and the Irish Car of the Year 2018 the radically new 3008 SUV. All the three new SUV models from the house of the French auto maker will be showcased all through the Peugeot SUV Drivetime event which will be held till 22nd December, 2017.
The all new Peugeot 5008 is the larger sibling of the highly acclaimed Peugeot 3008 SUV, which has won several awards. The new generation 5008 SUV has also come braced up to win over the hearts of the international buyers. It comes with a completely new design language and even gets a new silhouette dropping its previous MPV body shape to offer a true SUV stance. The SUV retains its 7-seater, three rows seating layout from its predecessor. However, the cabin has been also overhauled by the French manufacturer. The all new Peugeot 5008 has been endowed with many new features and techs including the new Peugeot iCockpit as well as digital instrument cluster which are offered as standard equipments across the entire lineup of the large SUV.
On the whole the new generation Peugeot 5008 SUV is an evolutionary model which has transformed from its more conventional predecessor into a more stylish, contemporary and sophisticated avatar. The SUV is now more efficient and advanced and comes blessed with advanced safety and technological levels.
While speaking on the launch of the all new Peugeot 5008, Colin Sheridan, the Director of Sales and Marketing at Gowan Distributors, Peugeot Importers in Ireland, said that both the Peugeot 2008 SUV and the new 3008 SUV have been immensely successful in the car markets of Europe, which is more true for the car market of Ireland, and emerged as the top models of the Irish market in this year.
Sheridan further said that going by the success of the previous 5008 MPV model and the 2nd best seller in its own segment last year, he is very confident about the new Peugeot 5008 SUV’s ability to gain a very strong success in the market. He added by saying that the consumer interest in the SUVs in Ireland continues to remain strong, and Peugeot is a very well established brand in Ireland. Thus, the launch of the new 5008 will only help the company to maximize its growth opportunity, especially with the company’s excellent 1.2L petrol 130bhp engine in both manual and automatic versions. He further added by saying that also especially for the Irish car market, Peugeot is also offering a spare wheel as a standard fitment on all the variants, excepting the GT model.
The new Peugeot 5008 has a starting price range of €29,345 for the base Access 1.2L 130 bhp PureTech petrol variant.
Peugeot is preparing to enter the Indian car market by the year 2020 and one of the initial models in its Indian portfolio will be the Peugeot 3008, which will fight with the likes of the Hyundai Creta.
