South Korean car major, Hyundai has started the production of its new i30 hatchback at its Nošovice manufacturing facility in Czech Republic. The new Hyundai i30 will be hitting the car markets of Europe in January 2017. The Korean auto giant’s Czech Republic facility is also responsible for rolling out other popular global models such as the Tucson and the ix20, both of which are offered for sale in the European car market. The Nošovice factory has an annual production capacity of 350,000 vehicles.

The new Hyundai i30 premium hatchback model had its world premiere at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The i30 is the first vehicle from the house of Hyundai Motor to come powered by a new turbocharged 1.4 liter 4-cylinder petrol mill that has the capability to churn out a max power output of 138 hp. The Hyundai i30 will be also getting the choices of a 1.4 liter naturally aspirated engine that has the ability of pumping out a peak power figure of 98 hp, and a turbocharged 1.0 liter 3-cylinder unit that can belt out a top power of 118 hp. The i30’s 1.6-liter diesel motor will be offered in three states of tune – 94 hp, 109 hp and 134 hp. Transmission duties in petrol and diesel versions of the hatchback model will be handled by a standard 6 speed manual transmission, while the 1.4-liter T-GDI petrol mill and the powerful diesel variants will also have the option of a sophisticated 7 speed dual-clutch transmission gearbox.

The new Hyundai i30 is a large premium hatchback model and befitting its status will be offering great styling, premium quality and a whole host of features as can be expected from any premium quality global model from the stable of Hyundai. The i30 hatchback is likely to come fully packed with a great number of premium features including Apple CarPlay, Android auto, wireless charging among others. When safety features are concerned, the premium hatchback model is likely to be equipped with a number of advanced safety features such as autonomous emergency braking system, lane keeping assist system, smart cruise control, blind spot detection, driver attention alert and an extensive package of airbags and much more.

While the Hyundai i30 hatchback was speculated to be coming to the Indian car market sometime in the future, the latest reports have suggested that the premium hatchback model is unlikely to arrive in the Indian market, considering the current market condition which is not expected to accept a large premium and expensive hatchback model. Hyundai Motor India had showcased i30 at the 2016 Auto Expo, but is not expected to actually launch it here. Hyundai Motor India offers the Elite i20 premium hatch and the i20 Active crossover models from its acclaimed ‘i’ portfolio. The i30 cannot be put below the i20 Active due to its more premium status, while can’t be placed above it as well as it is a hatchback. Thus, this new hatchback from Hyundai is not coming to India anytime soon.
